To celebrate 100 years of Rotary in Australia and New Zealand, we’ve teamed up with UNICEF to give life-saving vaccines to 100,000 children across the Pacific.

A new month as we charge towards Christmas.
A summary of the last two weeks:
Handed out $57,000 from the A&P, Wānaka Rotary Club Crop Competition, $28,000 Otago Rescue Helicopter & $9,500 each to Hawea, Luggate & Tarras volunteer fire brigades.
Professor Russell Bishops inspirational talk based on evidence on how to improve learning out comes for children particular Māori in mainstream education.
Wheels to Dunstan AGM with several of our Rotary members still involved with this outstanding service for our community. July 2024 – June 2025, 366 total trips with 472 total passengers.
On Wednesday 29 October together with Nikki Carey, we attended Mount Aspiring College senior prize giving. Absolutely amazing group of students who will become citizens of the world, articulate, confident and talented young people. A special event & a real privilege to represent our club.
Google Drive training to set up a file in the cabinet for the literacy project. Great learning, many thanks Vanessa Hills.
Melbourne Cup, great evening well done social committee & great efforts everyone on your dressing up. Congratulations to all the winners.

25 November – Geoff is stepping in as President when Nic Cavanagh from Snow Sports NZ will be our speaker at the Albie. We are off to celebrate a friends’ 70th birthday in Nelson with a bit of cycling.
Tuesday 2nd December – The Rotary Club of Wānaka AGM at the Albie.
Christmas party at Rod & Paddy-Ann's on Saturday 6 December.
Tuesday 9th December – Foundation Auction night in the main bar at the Albie, partners, family & friends are all invited to this final evening for 2025.
The year is racing towards the end with lots happening. Please remember to lodge your apologies if you cannot attend.
Date for the Duck Race is still pending awaiting the lowering of the lake level.
I am teaching every day from Monday 10 until Tuesday 18 November, so I am not available to answer my phone. I finish at 1530hours so happy to talk after this.

A reminder that once again this year we are offering you the Rotary Traditional Christmas Puddings which are baked in New Zealand and vacuum packed for superb freshness. These Traditional Christmas Puddings use only the best fruit, spices and wholesome ingredients to a time-proven recipe that everyone loves year after year.
They are available for $30 inclusive of GST and orders are now being taken. Please place your order/s via email to geoff@mcleay.nz. To confirm, you will be required to place your order and pay $30 per pudding into our Club Account No. 03-1739-0149617-000. The latest date for your order has been extended to Monday 24 November. Please use your family name and the word 'Pudding' as the reference.
Foundation Auction Evening December 10th
The final meeting for the year is our fundraising evening! 🥳
A percentage of the funds raised goes towards our obligation to the Rotary Foundation for the 24-25 Rotary year.
The balance is offset against our subscription cost for the current year,
so we all benefit from this entertaining event.
On Tuesday 25th November and on Tuesday 2nd December…...a list will be circulating
inviting you to indicate what your contribution to the auction might be.
Popular items donated over previous years include, wine, Xmas cakes, holiday vouchers,
Xmas hampers, fudge, jigsaw puzzles, vegetables, guided fishing and or boat trips,
home baking, bottles of spirits, yoga classes, e bike tours, native plants and so much more.
Please feel free to discuss your donation to this annual event with Don Irvine or Peter Harridge.👏

VISIT TO HIGHLAND PARK 18 NOV
Just a reminder regarding this visit which is with Cromwell Rotary Club . Starting at 5pm ( own transport / carpooling )and finish at 7pm . Platter food on arrival , a presentation on the Highlands story and a look around the museum / socialising with Cromwell Rotarians .

Greetings from D9815, Melbourne and Gippsland Areas. My local club is Maroondah, about 30km NE of Melbourne. Valda, I am an aviation nut, having attended the Royal International Tatoo (RIAT) in the UK, and a regular attendee to Avalon International Airshow (near Geelong) and Warbirds Downunder at Temora (NSW). I have always coveted attending Warbirds over Wanaka and have started looking forward to my options for 2026 and attending WOW over the Easter Weekend. I notice from the club website that the club assists in the running of the event, although there is no indication of exactly what you do. If i was to indicate that I would be available to assist over the weekend, would that be something your club would entertain? As I did when I went to RIAT in 2016, i was hosted by Rotarians in the near area and wonder if amongst your members there would be a Rotarian willing to host me for 3-4 day? I will have my own means of transport over the stay period. If home hosting isn't available, do you have connections in the accomodation industry where you might suggest i look for somewhere to stay?
