To celebrate 100 years of Rotary in Australia and New Zealand, we’ve teamed up with UNICEF to give life-saving vaccines to 100,000 children across the Pacific.

A new Rotary year is upon us, and with it comes fresh opportunities to serve and grow together. I recognise the remarkable contributions of Marie and last year’s directors, whose efforts have set a strong foundation for us to continue to build upon.
Last Friday evening saw in a fantastic Changeover night at the Upper Clutha Rugby Club but I’ll leave the stories to be told rather than tell them here. Many were dressed as if the clock had been turned back and this was matched by singing, dancing and laughter. Thank you to the Aspiring Rotary Club team for once again providing us with a fabulous meal, the Rugby Club for working the bar and our very own musical director, Ron for providing the backing for what turned out to be a great night of entertainment.
On the night a well deserved Paul Harris Fellowship Award was presented to outgoing President Marie. On behalf of our Club, we extend our sincere thanks to Marie for her dedication, leadership and service. Marie’s contribution to our Club and our broader community has been invaluable and we are grateful for the lasting impact she has made.
Great News! You will have received an invoice for your Membership fee renewal for $150. The reduction is a result of our District reducing the levy we pay them but may return to previous levels in coming years.
Looking back, recently I attended the Changeover nights at both Cromwell and Queenstown, where, it was clear that we are all part of a close-knit family that truly cares for one another.
On Tuesday, 23 June we held a Team Discussion so thank you for your participation. Every piece of feedback offered is valued and while any change might sometimes be small it helps shape the club’s direction going forward.
Don’t forget our next Committee night is on Tuesday 7 July. This allows us to host Mike Seagars from Roa on Tuesday 14 July who will speak about Roa’s vision for medical care in the Upper Clutha region. We all share our community’s concerns about the lack of healthcare facilities available locally so all guests are very welcome. On that same night we will be inducting Allan Smith who is transferring from the Rotary Club of Gore.

Foundation Movie Night: September 15th
Hi All
Just to let you know that the Foundation movie night is set down for Tuesday 15th September starting with drinks and a chat a 6 pm.
Please mark it in your calendar NOW. There will only be 78 seats and the last 3 have been sellouts.
A decision on the movie will be made nearer the time but we guarantee it will be a movie that suits our group.
