A field of rubber ducks will be quacking for a good cause on Saturday 26 October.

TONY O’REGAN

The annual Rotary Club of Wanaka Duck Race is on this labour weekend (Saturday 26 October). The highly anticipated event will raise funds for the Rotary Club of Wanaka which will in turn be distributed to worthwhile causes in the community and around the world.

This iconic race is a great family event with children and adults lining Bullock Creek to watch the ducks make their way to the finish line at the Dinosaur Park.

Tickets are on sale now and cost just $5 to enter a duck in the race. Tickets can be purchased at Mitre 10 between 10am and 2pm, and at New World between 2pm and 6pm on Sunday 20 October, and also at Dinosaur Park on Race Day.

Larger Executive Ducks are on sale for $100 and can be purchased by calling Tony on 021 889 482.

The top ‘executive’ duck will receive $500 from event sponsor Harcourts. The swiftest individual duck will get $250, with $50 for second and third place, and there will be 10 lucky draws for $20.

Come and join in the fun this Labour Weekend and help raise funds for worthwhile causes
